Eugenio Suarez Absent From Tuesday's Lineup
Eugenio Suarez (finger) is not in the team's starting lineup for Tuesday's contest against the hosting Detroit Tigers at Comerica Park. Although X-rays came back negative on Suarez's right index finger after he was hit by a pitch in Monday's loss to Detroit, it's not that big of a surprise that the D-backs are playing it safe with one of the top available bats at this year's trade deadline. Fantasy managers should consider the 34-year-old right-handed slugger to be day-to-day and check back to see if he's available to play on Wednesday. It would not be a big surprise if we don't see Suarez back in the lineup until the July 31 trade deadline on Thursday, though. Blaze Alexander is starting at third and batting ninth on Tuesday against Tigers right-hander Casey Mize. Alexander could be the team's everyday third baseman if/when Suarez is traded this week. UPDATE: A CT scan and MRI exam both came back negative on Suarez's injured finger on Tuesday.
