Erick Fedde May Start In Minors
5 years agoWashington Nationals starting pitcher Erick Fedde is eligible for a fourth year of minor league options because he's accrued fewer than five full seasons in the majors or minors. Fedde was drafted in 2014 but didn't start pitching in the minors until June of 2015 because of Tommy John surgery. Because he has another year of options, Fedde is unlikely to win a rotation spot over Joe Ross and Austin Voth, who are both out of options. The right-hander has shown glimpses of his potential over the years, but he hasn't remained consistent. Fedde is 6-7 with a 5.39 ERA and 1.56 WHIP in 35 major league outings (26 starts). The 26-year-old (27 next week) will mostly be an NL-only arm if he wins a spot in the rotation at any point in 2020.
