7 months agoThe San Diego Padres placed starting pitcher Eric Lauer on the bereavement list on Friday and called up relief prospect Andres Munoz from Double-A Amarillo in a corresponding move. The left-handed Lauer is 5-7 for the Friars this year with a 4.04 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 7.1 K/9 in 91 1/3 innings over his 17 starts. He should be back in time to start against the Marlins his next time out, making him very attractive in fantasy in that great matchup. Munoz, the team's No. 18 prospect per MLB Pipeline, has a 3.03 ERA, 1.21 WHIP, six saves and 58 strikeouts in 35 2/3 relief outings for Amarillo and Triple-A El Paso this year. The hard-throwing right-hander can reach triple digits and is worth watching for his ratios, but he also may not be up in the big leagues for long.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
