Eric Kendricks Excels In Coverage
5 years agoMinnesota Vikings linebacker Eric Kendricks was Pro Football Focus' highest-ranked linebacker last season among those with a minimum of 300 snaps. The linebacker excelled mostly in coverage, with just an 83.9 passer rating allowed when in coverage, which is around 20 points lower than the league average for linebackers. Kendricks, a former second-round selection in 2015, was a Pro Bowler and first-team All-Pro for the first time in his career in 2019. He has just nine sacks in his five NFL seasons, but Kendricks makes up for it by standing out in coverage and with his tackling. Kendricks has 100-plus combined tackles in four of his five seasons, all in the last four years. He doesn't have a high ceiling in IDP leagues because of his lack of sacks, but Kendricks is a low-end fantasy linebacker for his tackling abilities in coverage.
