Eric Comrie Stops Islanders From Scoring
Buffalo Sabres goaltender Eric Comrie responded to his worst outing of the season with his best game thus far, posting his first shutout of the season Saturday in a 2-0 win over the Islanders. The 27-year-old made his first start since March 9, when he coughed up a whopping 10 goals in a hammering by Dallas. Things went a lot better for Comrie this time, as he stopped all 26 shots the Islanders sent his way. Don Simmons in 1964 was the last goalie to record a shutout right after allowing 10-plus goals in his previous game. Comrie has struggled to keep the puck away from his net all season, registering a 3.72 goals-against average with a .882 save percentage, but he still boasts a decent 9-9-0 record.
