Eric Comrie Stops Islanders From Scoring
2 years agoBuffalo Sabres goaltender Eric Comrie responded to his worst outing of the season with his best game thus far, posting his first shutout of the season Saturday in a 2-0 win over the Islanders. The 27-year-old made his first start since March 9, when he coughed up a whopping 10 goals in a hammering by Dallas. Things went a lot better for Comrie this time, as he stopped all 26 shots the Islanders sent his way. Don Simmons in 1964 was the last goalie to record a shutout right after allowing 10-plus goals in his previous game. Comrie has struggled to keep the puck away from his net all season, registering a 3.72 goals-against average with a .882 save percentage, but he still boasts a decent 9-9-0 record.
