Emmanuel Clase Nails Down First Save Saturday

Cleveland Guardians right-hander Emmanuel Clase threw a scoreless ninth inning to save a 2-0 win over the Seattle Mariners on Saturday. Clase picked up one strikeout and did not allow a baserunner in the frame while needing just eight pitches to send the Mariners down. The veteran closer has now made appearances in two straight days, notching three strikeouts across two innings of work. Clase is one of the top closers in the league and should see plenty of save chances pitching for a Cleveland team that should provide him plenty of opportunities.
