Elijah Mitchell Leads 49ers In Rushing
2 years agoSan Francisco 49ers running back Elijah Mitchell carried the ball nine times for 59 yards in the Niners' 38-10 Monday Night Football victory over the Arizona Cardinals. The 24-year-old led the team in both carries and rushing yardage. San Francisco coach Kyle Shanahan is sticking to his plan to split carries. In fact, Mitchell has garnered more carries than his teammate Christian McCaffrey in both of the past two games when both were active. Mitchell did have fewer snaps than McCaffery and fewer touches than McCaffrey in the first half, and both lead running backs sat for most of the fourth quarter. Mitchell remains a strong flex option in Week 12 when the 49ers host the New Orleans Saints.
