Elijah Mitchell A Borderline Flex Option
2 years agoSan Francisco 49ers running back Elijah Mitchell faces a New Orleans Saints defense that has allowed the eighth-most rushing yards to opposing RBs this season. In Week 10, Najee Harris went for 99 rushing yards on the Saints defense, and in Week 9, both Kenyan Drake and Lamar Jackson eclipsed 80 yards. Mitchell has continued to have a role in the 49ers offense even after Christian McCaffrey joined the team. Although his carry total declined from Week 10 to 11, he was still able to gain 59 yards on nine carries. He is efficient enough as a rusher, averaging 5.7 yards per attempt and 2.2 yards after contact, that he remains a borderline flex option.
