Edy Tavares Continues To Dream Of NBA Return
1 year agoReal Madrid center Edy Tavares doesn't know what the future holds, but he is thinking about returning to the NBA. The seven-foot-three giant has one year left on his contract with Real but could be bought out of it. "I don't know if I'm going to renew with Real Madrid," Tavares told Spanish outlet Relevo this past weekend. "The truth is that I have a contract for next year, and I don't know what to tell you. Yes, I hope we will agree, but the dream of the NBA is there too. I'm not going to deny it." Tavares, who is currently preparing for the World Cup with his native Cape Verde, played 13 NBA games for Atlanta and Cleveland before signing with Real in 2017 and becoming a superstar in European basketball. It has been reported this summer that Portland is interested in bringing him back to the NBA. "Everything is up in the air, but it doesn't worry me," Tavares added. "I'm concentrating on the World Cup with my team and then I'll try to enjoy every second with my club until the last game. If I stay, fine, but if I don't, nothing happens. I've been said many times that the NBA is in mind, but you have to analyze everything."
