Eduardo Nunez Can Help In Many Places
7 years agoEduardo Nunez is a super-utility player in the right environment to be very successful. Nunez came to the Red Sox from the Giants in 2017 and was quite successful before a couple of knee injuries ended his season. On the year as a whole, he hit 12 home runs and has 24 stolen bases, eight and six in Boston, respectively. Nunez does not draw walks very often (3.7%) but that does not stop him from getting on base. He had a slash line of .321/.353/5.39 in 38 games with the Red Sox. Nunez had a groundball rate of 53.4% but his speed helps him get on base the most. Nunez will be very valuable for the first month of the year getting consistent at-bats playing second base. During that time he will compile plenty of counting stats in a tremendous offensive lineup. Once Dustin Pedroia returns, Nunez will revert back to a utility role, which could cause his value to drop. He can be obtained in the latter third of a draft.
