The Philadelphia Eagles released defensive lineman Fletcher Cox in a cost-saving move on Thursday, but the team has made progress on bringing him back. The two sides have discussed a one-year deal that would guarantee $14 million. The six-time Pro Bowler over 10 seasons in Philly previously had an $18 million salary that would have become fully guaranteed on Thursday. Cox was a first-round pick by the Eagles back in 2012 and has been a cornerstone of their defense ever since. The 31-year-old has a total of 443 tackles and 58 sacks while forcing 14 fumbles in 156 career games. Cox has shown some decline in recent years with just 4.5 sacks a year since 2019, but he can still be a solid interior defensive line presence.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerRead More News
