2 years agoDallas Mavericks center Dwight Powell suffered a left thigh contusion in Friday's game against Portland and had to exit after playing for only 12 minutes. Whilst on the court, the 31-year-old was able to notch five points with two rebounds, one assist and one steal. Dallas plays again Saturday against Cleveland and head coach Jason Kidd has said that Powell is "probably out" for the contest. It's a bad blow for Powell, but it's great news for Christian Wood, who started the second half in Powell's place. Unless Kidd has some strange thoughts, Wood should be a starter again Saturday, and that sets him up nicely for a big performance. He already crushed it with 32 points, 12 rebounds and two blocks Friday. The injury also allows JaVale McGee to re-enter the rotation.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
