Dwight Powell 2019-2020 Player Outlook
5 years agoDallas Mavericks power forward Dwight Powell flourished at the end of the 2018-2019 season and looks to build off that momentum. The catalyst to Powell's success was when the Mavericks traded then starting center DeAndre Jordan to the New York Knicks. Powell then got a bulk of the minutes at center averaging 29.5 minutes a game the last 30 games of the season. During that time Powell averaged 13.9 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 2.2 assists a game. In addition to those stats, Powell had nearly a block, a steal, and a three-pointer a game. Powell also did well shooting 61 percent from the field, 81 percent from the free-throw line, and 40 percent from beyond the arc. The Mavericks rewarded Powell this off-season signing him to a three-year deal which means the team will continue to utilize Powell this upcoming season. Fantasy players in season-long leagues will have to draft Powell in the middle rounds of their draft but especially in categories leagues, he should be an extremely valuable asset with his production in a variety of different stats.
