San Diego Padres reliever Drew Pomeranz (elbow) will not pitch this season as he continues to deal with an elbow issue, AJ Cassavell of MLB.com reports. The 11-year veteran hasn't appeared in a Major League game since 2021 and will head into the 2024 season as a free agent. Pomeranz was effective when healthy on the Friars, posting a 1.62 ERA, 1.08 WHIP, and 33.7% strikeout rate with 22 holds and four saves across 44 1/3 innings. If he can finally return from his elbow injury, the 34-year-old could be a solid contributor in hold formats next season.--Spencer Seguin
