Drew Lock 2020 Outlook: Weapons In Place For His First Full Season As Starter
5 years agoAn injury led to a late start in Drew Lock's rookie season, but he certainly looked the part down the stretch as the starter, which has given the Broncos the confidence and hope that he's their QB of the future. Their actions in this year's draft spoke volumes to that. He'll have a capable receiving corps in Courtland Sutton and rookies Jerry Jeudy and K.J. Hamler, a nice running back duo of Melvin Gordon III and Phillip Lindsay and emerging tight end Noah Fant. Lock has the arm strength to make all the necessary throws, but he'll need to make improvements in his decision-making in his first full season as the starter. That will be more difficult in an abbreviated offseason while learning a new system under Pat Shurmur. But everything is in place for the 23-year-old to succeed. Lock will be a low-end QB2 with upside for more, but fantasy owners will want to see it sustained over a full season before they completely buy in.
