Drew Doughty Lights The Lamp On Wednesday

Los Angeles Kings defenseman Drew Doughty recorded a power-play goal as his team came up short 3-2 to the Arizona Coyotes on Wednesday. In addition to his second-period tally, Doughty filled the scoresheet with a plus-one rating, four shots on goal, two penalty minutes and two blocks in 27:09 of ice time in the contest. After posting his lowest point total (35) in six seasons in 2019-2020, Doughty has exploded out of the gates this season and currently sits sixth in the NHL in defenseman scoring with 18 points (six goals, 12 assists) through 21 games. Considering his cross-category production (plus-one rating, 11 power-play points, 38 shots, 29 hits), the two-time Cup winner should be valued as a top-two fantasy rearguard the rest of the way.
