Drake London 2022 Outlook: A Big Share Of A Small Pie
3 years agoAtlanta Falcons rookie wide receiver and No. 8 overall pick Drake London enters 2022 with big expectations. The first wide receiver off the board, the USC product is the only rookie wide receiver who immediately steps in as his team's clear-cut WR1. His biggest competition for targets will be second-year tight end Kyle Pitts, who could take a leap forward from a promising start to his career. The biggest question for London and the Atlanta offense is how much passing volume we can expect from the quarterback room of Marcus Mariota and rookie Desmond Ridder. While Mariota is more experienced and the likely starter throughout the season, his rushing may limit the fantasy value for the Falcons' pass-catchers. London and Pitts could realistically soak up 50% of the targets in this offense, but Pitts' potential second-year leap is enough to limit London's upside on a team that is not expected to produce much offense. London has frequently been compared to Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans as a matchup nightmare in single coverage, but his immediate situation in Atlanta makes him unlikely to significantly outperform his ADP as the WR40.
