Doug Marrone Will Return To Jaguars
5 years agoJacksonville Jaguars head coach Doug Marrone will return for the 2020 season, according to sources. This comes as a big surprise, as the Jaguars were reportedly ready to fire Marrone after the Week 17 season finale. Instead, he'll get one more season to turn things around. Marrone led the Jags to a 10-6 record and an AFC Championship appearance in 2017, but the team has since gone 11-21 in two years since, and their suffocating defenses from 2017 has all but disappeared, especially after they traded shutdown cornerback Jalen Ramsey to the Rams in 2019. Nick Foles was a big free-agent bust, but Jacksonville's offense is set up nicely with Leonard Fournette and receivers D.J. Chark, Dede Westbrook and Chris Conley.
