DJ LeMahieu Heads To 10-Day Injured List
4 weeks agoThe New York Yankees placed infielder DJ LeMahieu (hip) on the 10-day injured list (retroactive to Sept. 6) on Monday with a right-hip impingement and recalled outfield prospect Jasson Dominguez from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre in a corresponding move. It was time for the Yankees to make the move since LeMahieu hadn't played for the team since last Tuesday. The 36-year-old veteran had picked up hits in each of his previous five games before getting hurt, but he's still hitting just .204/.269/.259 with a .527 OPS, two home runs, 26 RBI and 19 runs scored in only 201 at-bats on the year for the Yanks. LeMahieu hasn't been very healthy in 2024 and hasn't delivered when he's been on the field. When he returns from the IL, he'll be a bench player for the Yankees to close out the year and in the postseason with Jazz Chisholm Jr. entrenched at third base.
