DJ Lemahieu At First Base, Edwin Encarnacion The DH
5 years agoNew York Yankees infielder DJ LeMahieu is starting at first base and is hitting leadoff in Game 1 of the American League Division Series on Friday against Twins starter Jose Berrios. Edwin Encarnacion (oblique) is serving as the designated hitter and is batting cleanup. LeMahieu will take the place of the struggling Luke Voit in the first game of the series. He was one of the best hitters in all of baseball in 2019, slashing .327/.375/.518 with 26 homers, 109 runs and 102 RBI. LeMahieu hit .325 (175-for-539) with 25 of his homers out of the leadoff spot. He's a strong DFS pick. Encarnacion hasn't played since the middle of last month, making him a boom/bust power threat in the heart of New York's potent offense.
