Diontae Johnson Trying To Make Strong First Impression
5 years agoPittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Diontae Johnson could be a rookie breakout or he could be a routine Sunday inactive in 2019. As the Steelers look to replace Antonio Brown, the Toledo product was scooped up by Pittsburgh in the third round of the draft. In three years as a Rocket, he pulled in 135 passes for 2,235 yards and 23 touchdowns. Johnson will now contend to attract Ben Roethlisberger's attention in training camp in an effort to make the 53-man roster. With 168 targets off the board from Brown's departure, Johnson could be a direct beneficiary if he performs well in camp, but will be competing with James Washington and Donte Moncrief for work. However, heading into fantasy draft season, Johnson only carries dynasty league value until he establishes a stronger role.
