Diontae Johnson, Benny Snell Jr. Practicing In Full
5 years agoPittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Diontae Johnson (concussion) and running back Benny Snell Jr. (knee) were both full participants in practice on Thursday. Johnson must still be cleared by an independent neurologist, but his chances of playing in Week 12 against the Bengals are looking good despite being carted off after a scary head injury in Week 11. With JuJu Smith-Schuster (concussion, knee) unlikely to play, Johnson could be the No. 1 wideout for quarterback Mason Rudolph. Rudolph hasn't been good, though, and Johnson would still be a shaky fantasy play despite the great matchup against the winless Bengals. Snell could split backup duties with Trey Edmunds behind Jaylen Samuels, but he's unlikely to have any standalone value.

Benny Snell Jr. Rushes For 26 Yards In Preseason Finale
2 years agoDetroit Lions running back Benny Snell Jr. carried the rock five times and racked up 26 yards in Friday night's 26-17 preseason win over the Carolina Panthers. Snell played much of the second half with the third unit, and his longest gain went for eight yards on the night. The former Pittsburgh Steeler is looking to make a name for himself with the Lions and is currently fighting for a backup roster spot. Barring injury, he isn't worth any fantasy consideration in any leagues at this time.

Najee Harris Gets Another DNP, Benny Snell Jr. Limited
2 years agoPittsburgh Steelers running back Najee Harris (oblique) missed his second straight day of practice this week on Thursday, while running back Benny Snell Jr. (knee) popped up on the injury report after putting in a limited practice. Harris picked up an oblique injury that isn't considered serious in Monday night's win over the Indianapolis Colts, but he's looking very iffy for Sunday's game versus the Atlanta Falcons. Snell and Anthony McFarland Jr. combined to split the backfield work on Monday when Harris departed. Rookie Jaylen Warren (hamstring) was inactive in Week 12 and has been cleared to return this weekend, so if Harris is out, there's a good chance that Warren will lead Pittsburgh's backfield this Sunday.

Benny Snell Jr. Could Have A Role In Week 13
2 years agoPittsburgh Steelers running back Benny Snell Jr. saw his first action of the season in a Week 12 win over the Indianapolis Colts, rushing 12 times for 62 yards and a touchdown while adding a six-yard reception on Monday night. Snell was originally expected to serve as the backup to Najee Harris with Jaylen Warren (hamstring) inactive, but Harris wound up leaving shortly before halftime with an abdominal injury, forcing Snell into the lead-back role. Snell would set up as a mid-range RB3 against the Atlanta Falcons if Harris and/or Warren do not suit up. This is a situation to monitor throughout the week as the Steelers gear up to head down to Atlanta for Sunday's game.

Benny Snell Jr. Finds The End Zone In Week 12
2 years agoPittsburgh Steelers running back Benny Snell Jr. carried the ball 12 times for 62 yards and a touchdown while adding a six-yard reception in a 24-17 win over the Indianapolis Colts in Week 12. Snell saw his first touches of the season with Jaylen Warren (hamstring) inactive and Najee Harris leaving the game at the end of the first half with an abdominal injury. Warren's status for Week 13 against the Atlanta Falcons is unclear but this has the potential to be a messy three-man committee in Pittsburgh with Snell and Anthony McFarland Jr. all in line to possibly see touches if Harris isn't able to suit up. Stay tuned to the injury statuses of both Harris and Warren heading into Week 13.
