1 year agoThe San Diego Padres selected an elite athlete with the 25th pick in the first round out of high school in Illinois by taking outfielder Dillon Head. Head has elite raw speed and will need development on the rest of his tools, but he fits the profile of what the Padres have selected of late. Head had switched his college commitment to Clemson to follow coach Erik Bakich, though the Padres will likely make that commitment null. With 80-grade speed and plus defense, Head will be an exciting player to watch in the lower levels while he works into a major-league quality bat.--Benjamin Chase
