Didi Gregorius Comes Off The Injured List To Start Friday
3 years agoThe Philadelphia Phillies activated shortstop Didi Gregorius (elbow) from the 10-day injured list on Friday and optioned infielder Nick Maton to Triple-A Lehigh Valley in a corresponding move. Gregorius missed more than seven weeks with a form of arthritis in his elbow and is the healthiest he's been in nearly two months. In his 32 games for the Phillies this year, Gregorius is hitting just .229/.266/.364 with four doubles, four home runs and 22 RBI in 128 plate appearances. But he was one of the team's better hitters in 2020 when he hit .345 with runners in scoring position and led the team with 40 RBI. Get him back into your lineups. Veteran Ronald Torreyes will head back to a bench role with Gregorius' return. Gregorius is at short and is hitting seventh against San Diego Padres right-hander Chris Paddack on Friday.
