De'Von Achane 2024 Fantasy Football Outlook: RB1 Ceiling In Explosive Offense
7 months agoMiami Dolphins running back De'Von Achane arrived in a big way in Miami last season, finishing the year as the RB4 in half PPR fantasy points per game. He rushed for 800 yards on 103 attempts and eight touchdowns while catching 27 passes for 197 yards and three scores over 11 games. The main reason is offensive-minded head coach Mike McDaniel. Although Achane was limited to fewer than 12 touches per game, the efficiency of the McDaniel offense makes up for it and more. It was an effort to keep Achane healthy, who had missed six games due to a knee injury. He will most likely split touches with Raheem Mostert, with fourth-round rookie Jaylen Wright sprinkled in. The Dolphins' offense ranked first in yards before contact, first in expected running back fantasy points, and second in offensive scoring. This rocketed Achane to No. 1 in nearly every efficiency metric you can find as a 21-year-old rookie. With more volume expected in year two, it takes a lot of work to pass up on the superstar potential Achane provides at an ADP of 17 (RB8), much higher than his RotoBaller ranking of 46 (RB13). The injury concern is high, especially at a mere 188 pounds, but the upside is undeniable. At a RotoBaller ranking of RB13, no other running back comes close to the overall RB1 ceiling compared to draft value.
