Devils Turn to Keith Kinkaid to Start Playoffs
7 years agoNew Jersey Devils goaltender Keith Kinkaid will start his first career playoff game on Thursday night. Kinkaid has had a solid year for the Devils, but has elevated his play since the beginning of March, posting a .928 save percentage in that time while winning 11 of his 14 starts. He has especially shined away from home, as his .935 save percentage on the road is the fourth best mark in the league over the last month for goalies with at least five starts. The Devils will need him to continue that success if they are going to steal a game from the Lightning early in this series. A hot goalie can be all the difference in a seven-game series, and by all indications, Kinkaid is as hot as any goaltender right now. Look for Kinkaid to keep this series interesting, but facing a Tampa Bay team that is leading the league in points per game (3.54), he is a gamble in daily fantasy formats.
