Dereck Lively II Will Get The Chance To Start

Dallas Mavericks center Dereck Lively II is heading into his rookie season with some big long-term expectations. He was drafted based on both need and potential as the team lost Christian Wood and JaVale McGee this offseason. Head coach Jason Kidd told Marc Stein that Lively is going to get the chance to start. He provides the rim protection and rim-running ability that the team has been looking to pair with the like of Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving. Along with their star-studded backcourt and rookie big man, Kidd talked about Grant Williams in the starting lineup while Josh Green and Olivier-Maxence Prosper compete for the last spot.
