Denzel Clarke Beginning To Find Footing At Double-A
6 months agoOakland Athletics outfield prospect Denzel Clarke has begun to find his footing at Double-A after struggling through the early part of the season. He held a poor.169 AVG in April and .219 AVG through May. However, in his past 10 games, the 24-year-old has posted a .273 AVG with a .485 SLG. In this stretch he has launched two home runs, swiped two bags, and tallied five RBI. Clarke performed well in Double-A last season with a .261/.381/.496 line with 12 long balls before shifting to the 60-day injured list with a shoulder strain that ultimately ended his season. Clarke is ranked as the number three prospect in the Oakland system on MLB Pipeline and is projected to reach the major leagues later this summer. This could happen if Clarke continues to stay hot in the batter's box and is worth adding in deeper leagues if he reaches Triple-A.
