When news broke over the offseason that Denny Hamlin was going to have surgery on his shoulder, many people in the NASCAR world wondered how this would affect his driving. Well, after winning Saturday night's Busch Light Clash at the Los Angeles Coliseum, it's clear that Denny's shoulder seems to be healing just fine. Hamlin started from the pole and led 58 of the 151 laps in Saturday's exhibition race, getting to the lead around teammate, Ty Gibbs, with ten laps to go. The quarter-mile, makeshift racetrack at the Coliseum required a lot of precise maneuvering and was strenuous on the drivers, so it's a good sign for Hamlin that he was able to compete at such a high level. After the race, Denny stated, "I think we've kind of passed the test that we're going to be good to go to start the season, and it's certainly not going to be a factor for the No. 11 car."--Jordan McAbee
