After a strong points day at Texas Motor Speedway on Sunday, Denny Hamlin is now in a great position in the Playoffs standings. Hamlin secured top-10 finishes in each Stage during the Autotrader EchoPark Automotive 400 and wound up with a fifth-place finish when the checkered flag waved. He scored a total of 42 points in the race and now sits 37 points above the cut line with two races remaining in the Round of 12. This is a great position for Hamlin to be in, as Talladega is looming next weekend, which has the potential to be one of the most unpredictable races of the season. Hamlin's fifth-place finish at Texas is his third straight in Cup Series action and 12th of the season, two more than he had all of last year.--Jordan McAbee
