Denny Hamlin Has A Strong Showing
2 years agoDenny Hamlin started the Ambetter Health 400 from the 14th starting position and was able to make gains from there all day. He finished Stage 1 running fifth, and then at the end of Stage 2 he was eighth. He was in the top 10 near the end of the race and was able to drive his No. 11 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota to a sixth-place finish. It was a good day for Hamlin after a week that he admitted on his podcast to putting Ross Chastain into the wall at Phoenix. His admission earned him a $50,000 fine and the docking of 25 points in the standings. Hamlin initially decided not to appeal, but has since changed his mind and will appeal the fine.
