Dejounte Murray Sets New Record With 40 Points
2 years agoAtlanta Hawks guard Dejounte Murray produced his best-ever scoring outing on Monday against Portland, leading the troops with 40 points in a 129-125 loss. Trae Young (ankle) had the night off and it gave Murray all the keys to the offense. He shot 13-for-26 from the field and 5-for-8 from downtown with a 9-for-9 record at the charity stripe. In 38 minutes on the floor, he was also able to get eight rebounds, seven assists and two steals while finishing without a single turnover. Murray has now had five games without Young this season and the numbers speak for themselves. He has averaged 26.4 points in those games with 6.4 rebounds and 7.8 assists, while Murray has registered 20.6 points, 5.4 rebounds and 5.9 assists in situations where Young has been in the lineup.
