4 years agoSan Francisco 49ers wide receiver Deebo Samuel (foot) has been ruled out for Week 1 against the Cardinals. Samuel didn't practice this week, but he's ahead of schedule and could make his season debut next week against the Jets. When he's ready to return, Samuel should be quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo's No. 1 receiver, making him virtually a must-start each and every week. In his absence in the season opener, Kendrick Bourne and Dante Pettis should have more opportunities, while tight end George Kittle and potentially even pass-catching running back Jerick McKinnon will have bigger roles. Rookie Brandon Aiyuk (hamstring) could be active, but there's a good chance he'd have his snaps limited.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
