Daz Cameron Scratched With Toe Sprain
3 years agoDetroit Tigers outfielder Daz Cameron (toe) was scratched from the starting lineup on Monday against the Texas Rangers due to a right toe sprain. Cameron suffered the injury in batting practice before the game when he crashed into the outfield wall while shagging fly balls. The 24-year-old, who is slashing .207/.270/.397 with three home runs, nine RBI and four stolen bases in 18 games, could be a candidate to land on the injured list. Cameron is worth rostering in dynasty/keeper leagues and has some appeal in AL-only leagues for his speed, but he needs to develop a more consistent approach at the plate to become useful in mixed leagues. Akil Baddoo is in center field and batting leadoff, while Nomar Mazara enters in right field and is hitting seventh against Rangers left-hander Kolby Allard. Baddoo has been excellent for fantasy managers all season, while Mazara is a shaky play against southpaws despite the fact that he's been slowing heating up in the last few weeks.
