David Price On His Way Out Of Boston?
5 years agoThe Boston Red Sox have had trade talks with at least five teams about starting pitcher David Price, according to a source. The teams in play for the 2012 American League Cy Young winner include the Padres, Cardinals, White Sox and Reds. The Angels have also been in contact with Boston. The veteran southpaw has three years and $96 million remaining on his deal, and he doesn't have a no-trade clause. He's set to earn $32 million in each of the next three seasons. The Sox would likely have to eat a large chunk of his deal to unload him to another team after he missed most of the final two months of last season with a left wrist injury. Price finished 2019 7-5 with a 4.28 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and 128 K's in 107 1/3 innings over 22 starts.
