David Montgomery An RB2 With Upside Against Vikings
12 months agoDetroit Lions running back David Montgomery saw his four-game touchdown streak snapped in Week 14, and he wasn't able to find the end zone in Week 15 either. Since Jahmyr Gibbs has been the more efficient runner and handled more of the receiving work out of the backfield, Montgomery needs a touchdown or two to unlock his upside. Ultimately, both running backs are still must-starts in most leagues, but the former Chicago Bear has a lower floor than he did earlier in the season. Despite the tough matchup with Minnesota, Montgomery offers plenty of upside in one of the best offenses in the NFL. If he can capitalize on his red zone and goal line touches, he's capable of an RB1 performance in all matchups.
