David Johnson Absent From Another Practice
3 years agoHouston Texans running back David Johnson (illness, thigh) remains out of practice for the second straight day this week on Thursday. There's a non-COVID-19-related illness going around the Texans locker room this week, with Johnson and wide receivers Brandin Cooks and Chris Conley also missing both practices. Also dealing with a thigh issue, Johnson will need to get back on the practice field on Friday to have a shot at playing in Week 13 against the Indianapolis Colts. While he has seen more work the last two weeks, the fact that he's still splitting the workload with Rex Burkhead makes him a low-ceiling RB4/flex if he's active. Royce Freeman would see a larger role alongside Burkhead if Johnson isn't cleared for Week 13.
