David Dahl Is Poised For A Crash
6 years agoColorado Rockies outfielder David Dahl is currently hitting .296 after he went 1-for-4 on Saturday against Philly. He's living on borrowed time though. Dahl is sporting a strikeout rate of more than 33%, and he's being buoyed by a ridiculous .437 BABIP. He's hitting the ball softer than he ever has in the majors, he's walking less often than in previous seasons, and he's only hit three home runs, less than supposedly light-hitting teammate Raimel Tapia. It's not entirely clear what's holding Dahl back, though it's likely a health issue since he always has a health issue, but either way, owners should expect his pleasantly high batting average to drop precipitously in the future. If he can't find his way to more contact, his depressed power numbers may be waiting for the batting average to join them in Underperforming Land.
