Darick Hall To See Bulk Of Starts At First Base
Darick Hall is expected to see most of his playing time coming at first base, according to Phillies president Dave Dombrowski. This comes a day after Rhys Hoskins (knee) tore his ACL on a non-contact play. It's uncertain if Hall is going to play against both righty and lefty pitchers. This could very well end up as a platoon situation, but Hall is still worth a look as a deep league option. He smashed nine home runs and 16 RBI in 42 games with the Phillies last season. The 27-year-old has already hit five homers this spring. The left-handed slugger has a ton of power, but also is prone to strikeout quite a bit. It sounds like the Phillies are going to give Hall a chance to prove himself.
