Dante Fowler Jr. 2020 Outlook: Former First-Rounder Could See Some Regression As Atlanta's Primary Pass-Rusher
5 years agoThe Falcons signed Dante Fowler Jr., the third overall pick of the Jaguars in 2015, to be their primary pass-rusher after he posted a career-high 11.5 sacks, 40 solo tackles, 16 tackles for loss, 16 QB hits, two forced fumbles and a fumble recovery for a TD in 16 games for the Rams last year. But it's usually not a good sign when you're that high of a first-round pick and you've already played for three different teams in your first five seasons. To Fowler's credit, though, he showed improvement in the run game and was efficient in getting pressure on the opposing QB in 2019, but he also had help from one of the best defensive lineman in the game in Aaron Donald. Fowler could be figuring it out finally heading into his age-26 season, but we'd be wary of taking him as your starting defensive lineman in IDP leagues, even if he was the second-highest scoring D-lineman in IDP formats last year.
