Danny Jansen Progressing, Cavan Biggio Still Hurting
3 years agoToronto Blue Jays catcher Danny Jansen (hamstring) is progressing well, is running the bases and could start playing in rehab games soon. Infielder Cavan Biggio (back), however, is still bothered by his back injury. Jansen was placed on the injured list with a right hamstring strain two weeks ago, but he's nearing a return. He was hitting just .176/.259/.336 with five homers and 10 RBI in 49 games this year before his injury, so he'll likely share catching duties in Toronto upon his return, in a best-case scenario. Alejandro Kirk and Reese McGuire have been splitting catching duties. Biggio was put on the injured list on Aug. 3 for an injury that he's been dealing with all year. The 26-year-old has seven home runs in 246 at-bats, but he hasn't helped much with his .215/.316/.350 slash line, and it's looking like he won't be ready to return when he's eligible.
