1 year agoThe Toronto Blue Jays placed catcher Danny Jansen (groin) on the 10-day injured list (retroactive to May 25) on Friday with a left-groin strain and recalled catcher Tyler Heineman from Triple-A Buffalo in a corresponding move. Jansen won't return until June now after injuring his groin running to first base in the game on Wednesday against the Tampa Bay Rays. It's a bummer for fantasy managers that were using the 28-year-old backstop of late, as he had gone 12-for-42 (.286) with four doubles, three home runs and 11 RBI in his last 11 games since May 13. Alejandro Kirk is catching for Toronto on Friday against the Minnesota Twins and right-hander Louie Varland, and he's expected to be the primary backstop while Jansen recovers.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
