Danny Duffy Tempts Fate To Nab Seventh Win

Kansas City Royals starting pitcher Danny Duffy made it exciting by keeping the basepaths full, but key plays helped him nail down his seventh win of the year. Duffy didn't allow any runs over 5 2/3 innings, but he did allow 10 baserunners in that time. Seven strikeouts helped minimize the damage as well as a close call on a bases loaded ground out that got him out unscathed. Duffy's still pitching better than he was at the start of the season, but his high walk rate and fortunate strand rate over the last six weeks mean there are still some concerns floating around.
