5/14:In a strange quirk, Kansas City Royals starting pitcher Danny Duffy became the third Royals pitcher in four games to allow exactly nine earned runs in an outing. Duffy struggled once again, allowing eight hits and walking five in just 3 1/3 innings. Duffy is now carrying a 6.51 ERA on the season, and he simply looks lost on the mound. He regularly misses his spots, and when he does, it’s often by leaving a mediocre pitch out over the plate that is promptly hit for extra bases. There is no rumor of any injury, but don’t be surprised if Duffy eventually gets sent to the disabled list just to give him some time to clear his head. In the meantime, he shouldn’t be started against anyone.--Billy Stonick - RotoBaller
