Daniel Robertson With A HR Thursday Versus Seattle

Tampa Bay Rays second baseman Daniel Robertson would open the scoring for the Rays with a solo hom run Thursday versus the Mariners. The HR was his seventh of the season. There was perhaps a more telling symbol of his value to the team that happened away from the cameras. The Rays needed to clear a space on their roster and chose to designate Brad Miller for assignment. Coming into the season, there was talk of Miller having a role at second base, but it appears that others, especially Robertson, have helped make that unnecessary by their play. Robertson is not a shallow league asset, but in AL-only or deep leagues, Robertson may have his place on rosters that focused their drafts on other positions first.
