D'Angelo Russell Explodes Off The Bench
7 years agoBrooklyn Nets point guard D'Angelo Russell finally got the playing time he was looking for since coming off a knee injury, and he didn’t fail to disappoint. Playing 32 minutes in a loss to the Pelicans, Russell put up a line of 21 points, nine rebounds and five assists. That was the first really strong game since returning for the 21-year-old, and he should give head coach Kenny Atkinson some more confidence to give him more time over the remainder of the season. The Nets are in a tough spot where they won’t make the playoffs, but they can’t really tank because they don’t own their pick this year. So, for the remaining 30 or so games, the focus should be on winning. Inserting Russell back as a starter will help achieve that goal. His fantasy outlook moving forward looks promising as long as he is getting starters minutes.
