Dak Prescott 2018 Player Outlook: Overhauled Receiving Corps Could Be An Issue
6 years agoThe 2017 season was a tale of two halves for Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott. The young signal-caller got off to a hot start last season, passing for 16 touchdowns and four touchdowns through the first eight games of the season but just six touchdowns and nine interceptions in the final eight contests. Prescott did play six games without suspended star running back Ezekiel Elliott which played into his struggles. Elliott will be back in the fold in 2018 but Prescott's weapons in the passing game have changed. Longtime stalwarts in the passing game wide receiver Dez Bryant and tight end Jason Witten are gone, replaced by Allen Hurns and rookie Michael Gallup. Prescott brings exceptional rushing ability from the quarterback position but his ceiling will be capped in a run-first offense which will be without many proven options in the passing game outside of Hurns. Prescott should be treated as a mid-range QB2 for the upcoming fantasy season.
