D.J. Moore 2021 Outlook: Could This Be the Year...
4 years agoCould this be the season we finally see D.J. Moore reach his full potential? Often viewed as one of the most well-rounded young receivers in the league today, Moore is commonly referred to as a ticking time-bomb for fantasy (in a good way). For two years, the fantasy community has seen glimpses of Moore's elite ability to make tough grabs and dazzle after the catch. Unfortunately, his detonation has been delayed as a result of subpar quarterback play. Despite his quarterbacks, the Panthers managed to have three top-25 receivers last year. Curtis Samuel has since left, which opens the door for Moore, Robby Anderson, and Christian McCaffrey to be this teams' entire offense. The Panthers also acquired Sam Darnold this off-season, which should be at least a mild improvement under center. Some believe Darnold still possesses the talent that got him drafted third overall in 2018, but his progression was limited due to his coaching staff. If this is the case, we could finally see Moore explode with fantasy points. Moore has a top-20-receiver floor with the ability to be top-12 if Head Coach Matt Rhule can find success with Darnold. I would be happy to have Moore as my WR2 going into the 2021 season.
