Craig Kimbrel Earns First Save As Cub

Chicago Cubs closer Craig Kimbrel shut the door on the Braves Thursday night to earn his first save as a Chicago Cub. He allowed a hit, a walk, and struck out one, taking 20 pitches to get through the ninth. Some shakiness should be expected as he gets acclimated to live games, but expect Kimbrel to be a top closer option going forward. In 2018, he earned 42 saves with a 2.74 ERA, 0.99 WHIP, and a 28.6 percent strikeout rate. He should be on rosters in all leagues and started despite missing the first half of the season, as he is one of the best closers of this generation.
