Cowboys Restructure Tyron Smith's Contract
2 years agoThe Dallas Cowboys announced on Wednesday that they restructured left tackle Tyron Smith's contract, converting some of his $13.6 million scheduled compensation in 2023 to incentives while also lowering his $17.605 million salary cap number this year. Some people believed that the Cowboys might cut Smith this offseason to save $9.6 million against the cap, but instead they will keep him around. With the 32-year-old returning to start at left tackle next season, Tyler Smith will likely move to either left guard or right tackle. Tyron Smith was the ninth overall pick by Dallas in 2011, and he has started 148 games for the team while making eight Pro Bowls.
